N.O. Jan 28 Dear Ma, I have not received a letter from you or Pa since I have been here. this makes the second letter I have written. I stayed all night at uncle's and went to Church with Aunt. they were so glad to see me she says she wrote a long letter to you some time since. I have not had time to go to see coz Sally. I [been] so busy getting ready for school. I am going to Mrs. [Omlsted] and is a very good school I got in to a yankey school but Dr. took me away. you must certainly write make Pa write and grandma if you can send me a enough [of mine] money to get me a watch a common watch $18 sent about $20.
