New Orleans Nov 25th/66 Dear Ma I undertake to write once more although I think it useless for I don't receive any letters yesterday was Saturday one of the days of our late [Fair] the Dr. Mollie Kate an Annie myself all went and enjoyed ourselves very much we saw a great many fine things consisting of horses cows goats sheep [illegible word] deer [illegible word] dogs & varieties of animals. Then we went into the horse hold department there we saw bids- [illegible word] carpets, chains harnesses & c. & c. then we went in to another department in which we saw carriages horses [illegible word] an all such things made in splendid style. I am going to Dr. Palmers [illegible word] to day. I don't know when I am coming home I hope you have got all my letters I wrot to Pa by the Quitman I think my health is improving I must close my letter Miss [illegible word] is all most ready love to all an plenty for yourself. Yours in haste Fred R. Bernard P.S. I forgot to tell you I saw Mr. Hatch on Fair ground he said all was well inquired for you all. He looks very old Indeed he looks very aged to Papa. Yours, F.R.B.
