Abstract
This is a poetry collection designed for mahjong, presented here in codex form. The goal is to bring poetry back to the material, tactile, and in-person community, so the poems here have been mapped to the suits in mahjong and deal with assimilation, migration, place, and grief, with honor tiles adding mental health, politics, surrealism, and romantic love. The largely lyrical poems are meant to be challenged and broken through a game of mahjong, where the actual book/manuscript is made up of each player’s remaining hands at the end of a round.
