Description
A neighboring farmer deposited this red clay at the entrance to the farm in October of 2025. The aim was to improve traction for visitors. The rich red color, owing to high iron content, reminded me of the fireplace bricks in the old farmhouse, also made from Mississippi clay.
I loved the colors here. Red dominated the foreground. And brown puddles reflected trees and light, which stretched my vision toward the pale sky. The greens in the distant field pulled my gaze down toward the gate.
