Abstract
Alternative assignment options that allow students to demonstrate their understanding in more diverse and meaningful ways are gaining popularity with educators. In this panel, UM faculty members discuss their experience developing map-based alternative assignments that encourage spatial thinking while also promoting engagement, creativity, and critical thinking.
