Abstract

Let R be a commutative noetherian local ring. The cohomology annihilator ca(R) of R is defined as the intersection of the annihilators of Ext modules of finitely generated R-modules. In this talk, I will speak about some recent progress on a question of Huneke from the 1990s about the relationship of ca(R) with the Jacobian ideal of R. I will also present a couple of natural questions on ca(R). This talk is based on joint work with Srikanth Iyengar.
