Abstract
Results that relate subsets of a matroid to minors of that matroid are important tools in the study of matroid representability. We extend these results to consider subsets of matroids that contain clones. A pair of elements x and y in a matroid are clones if the map that fixes all other elements and interchanges x and y is an automorphism. This work is joint with Jakayla Robbins and Carla Cotwright.
