Abstract

In recent years, the use of adaptive design methods in clinical research and development based on accrued data has become very popular due to its flexibility and efficiency. In this presentation, we'll discuss some features of adaptive design such as its general structure, importance, comparison with classical clinical trial design and some types of adaptive designs. Also discussed are some examples of adaptive design and statistician's role on adaptive designs. Some common statistical/programming tools needed in clinical trials will be shared as well.
