Description
Interview conducted by author Jere Nash with former Mississippi legislator Walter Brown as research for Mississippi Politics: The Struggle for Power, 1976-2006. Brown represented Natchez in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1968 to 1980 and ran unsuccessfully in the Democratic primary for the U.S. House of Representatives in 1972. Topics covered included his first race for the Mississippi legislature against incumbent Adrian Lee and his later race for Congress against Ellis Bodron and Paul Pittman. Other subjects include John R. Junkin, Buddy Newman's election to the Mississippi Speaker post, and Brown's service on the Ways and Means Committee.
