Description
Evans Harrington was a long time chair of the English Department at the University of Mississippi and a noted scholar. He was at the forefront of the writer-in-residence searches which brought Willie Morris and Barry Hannah to the University. He also worked tirelessly for the Southern Literary Festival and the Faulkner & Yoknapatawpha Conference. His legacy as a teacher of literature and creative writing has been assured by the number of his students who became teachers and writers themselves.
