Abstract: Bioengineered cells can be immobilized within polymeric matrices for easier product separation, reduction of contamination, increased cell stability, and easier recycling of the cells. Here, we propose to develop a 3D-printed pill, designed to stabilize bioengineered microorganisms at room temperature for on-site production of large molecules. Specifically, producing TNF-alpha from E. coli Hydrogel tablets for cancer treatment.
