Students at the rural, three-room Bonner School here eat lunch January 1964, under the National School Lunch Program. Because of local, State and Federal efforts and U.S. Department of Agriculture foods, schools like Bonner in eastern Kentucky can now participate in the National School Lunch Program, and thousands of children in remote Kentucky schools are being served lunch ast school for the first time. Of the 58 children attending Bonner School, only 22 were able to pay 10 cents toward their lunch on the day this picture was taken. The rest were served free.
