Lyrics
Lyrics:
First verse
There was a hot time down in Jungle land, That night the whole menagerie; They got together, organized a band, You never heard such melody. The baboon, he made a monkey of himself, He beat the Hippo for a drum, At this the lions all began to roar, And the Hyena cried with fun:
Chorus
Listen to that Jungle band, Jungle band, ain't it grand? Listen to the rangoutang, Hear those jingles jingle, jungle, jungle, jingles. Listen to the Chimpanzee, On the key, off the key, Monkey tootsie, wootsies, Dancing hootchie, kootchies. Listen to that Jungle band.
Second verse
One love-sick monkey sang a mournful wail, He rolled his eyes up to the moon; Just then the Elephant stepped on hi tail, This made the Monkey change his tune. Mister Giraffe joined in and topped them all, This filled their hearts with jealousy, Then Mister Monkey climbed a tree so tall, Until his voice it reached high C.
(Chorus)
