Abstract

Genderf*ck Drag is about a queer drag nun who uses makeup to explore their gender identity as a non-binary person living in Mississippi. As a piece that is a part of a much larger series about queer subculture in Mississippi, Genderf*ck Drag highlights the one of different many ways LGBTQ people carve out space for self expression and exploration.

Christina Huff is a second year master’s student in Southern Studies at the University of Mississippi. Her work focuses on LGBTQ subcultures in the South, and she currently works as the graduate assistant at the Emmett Till Interpretive Center creating videos and other content for their social media websites.
