Putting our Writing into Perspective

Audience Level: Elementary, Middle

Perspective writing can be difficult at times to teach. This session will begin with having participants choose an event from history or from their lives and quickly write about the event. Strategies for adding details will be shared to help increase the detail of the event. We will then look at perspectives within the piece that could be written. Participants will choose two perspectives to look at from their chosen event. Classroom examples will be shared. Participants will leave the session with suggestions to add details to an event or setting and a perspective writing sample.
