Using Routine Writing to Develop Authentic Writing Practice

Many teachers start each class with a writing prompt. But what do teachers do with this writing? This session will show participants how to use routine writing strategies to develop authentic writing practice for students. This fast-paced session will introduce writing strategies to generate ideas and apply those ideas to authentic writing, experimenting with various genres, formats, and audiences.
