Abstract

This document records and represents an extensive process by the University of Mississippi (UM) to develop a meaningful and ambitious plan to improve student learning and student success by focusing on the development of critical thinking skills. As such, it speaks to our campus culture, our values, and our role in our community. In addition to narrating our journey and articulating our values, this document also fulfills the more pragmatic function of describing our QEP to both internal and external audiences. Document includes: executive summary, outline of the topic selection process, literature review and best practices, desired goals and outcomes, implementation and timeline, assessment, institutional resources, evidence for compliance with SACSCOC's framework. Document was submitted to accrediting body on behalf of Interim Chancellor Larry Sparks.
