Abstract

UNIVERSITY, Miss. -- Ron Briggs and Dee Thomas grew up in Memphis singing in their churches and listening to gospel music -- legends like John P. Kee, Kirk Franklin and Albertina Walker. Never did the two University of Mississippi students expect to find themselves sharing the spotlight with mega stars. But on June 25, Thomas, Briggs and the other 58 members of the Ole Miss Gospel Choir do just that when they make their national cable television debut on BET's (Black Entertainment Network) "Bobby Jones Gospel Hour."
