On February 4, Chancellor Dan Jones addressed students at the first Health Professions Day, an event highlighting opportunities and academic resources for students interested in pursuing careers in the health sciences. Jones shared stories about the university's pioneering role in transplant surgery and in developing the world's most widely read textbook of physiology. For an institution that was near failing in 2009, the result is a significant milestone in a district that came out of conservatorship in July 2014.
