Description
Liftin' the Lid on Washington was a regular Mississippi radio program with hosts Howard Suttle and Earle Steele. This particular episode features an interview with U.S. Representative Jamie L. Whitten of Mississippi and how his efforts on the House Appropriations Committee managed to save the federal government $1 billion dollars. Part One discusses how $650 million was saved by investigating the Elk Hills oil contract between the U.S. Navy and Standard Oil Company. Part 1 of 4.
